Rationale:
Probiotics are live micro-organisms with beneficial health effects, used in the prevention and treatment of acute and chronic diseases of the gut and other conditions. Therefore, understanding the involvement of gut microbiota in health, their actions, effects, and selection, in the light of the most recent studies and research, and analyzing the most salient aspects of probiotics in digestive and other diseases, as well as the recommendations for their application and the process of the different modifications of the term probiotic, is necessary to understand their importance in human health.
This course gives an insight into the importance of probiotics in human health and the beneficial role of bacterial probiotics according to species and strain selection, based on research arguments to be recommended for specific medical treatments with the expectation of satisfactory results.
